A memory

Claire and I dated for a couple of years back at College, in that time I got to know Paul, Janet and the rest of the family really well, spending lot's of time in their home. I always remember it as being such a welcoming and friendly place. During this time I also worked for near enough minimum wage at the local sports shop, there I worked in the bike department and at some stage I decided this warranted more money! I had discussed this with Paul, I remember he sat down with me and told me what I should say and how I should go about getting my pay rise, after our talk I promptly drove to work, spoke with the manager and, eventually got my rise. Whether Paul thought I might spend more money on Claire, I don't know! But he had taken time out of his day to help me out and it taught me something which I've kept with me since, if you don't ask you don't get. I always remember Paul having a smile on his face and with a family like his, it was easy to see why. My thoughts are with the family at this difficult time.
